Aqua Blue Heaven Fridays: Aquadots.

Mornin', kids! Rise and shine, happy campers, for Aqua Blue Heaven Friday! (OK, I'm not even believing my own faux morning cheerfulness act. I hate myself for even trying. It's not that I'm not happy. I'm just not a happy person in the morning, Like, say, any time before noon.)

While mornings aren't my bag, man (said in a hippie tone- again, I hate myself for that), I found something for this week's Aqua Blue Heaven theme that is so damn charming and wonderful and freaking awesome, that I would consider jumping out of bed for. (And if it was booze-scented, then I may have just invented the most perfect alarm clock.) I'm talking about this to- die -for Vintage 50's Rockabilly Dress w/Polka Dot Bow, currently available on Etsy from seller Clever Vintage:

Now. If I only I had a 34" or smaller bust. And was shorter. And my hips were 36" or smaller (oh come ON), then this dress would be a total Kim dress and I'd be all over it, like ... something ... that's on ... something. I dunno. I can't think of any clever similes this morning. But if you're of wee stature and build, I envy you. Also, grab this dress already and go back to bed. It's the right thing to do.

Way-Out Wednesday: Pencil Me In.

Welcome to Way-Out Wednesday, my lovely little nerdlingtons!

You know, every once in a while, I find something good for Way-Out Wednesday that is absolutely not vintage (whah?!) and not creepy/strange/bizarro (whah?!), but just plain old wacky. But in a good way. And today is that day, my friends.

If you're a freak, geek, dork, band nerd, book worm, teacher, librarian, student, knitter, writer, tech support worker ... pencil-chewer ... umm... woodsman... wool-maker ... huh ... (I'm running out, here) ... or human, I can't imagine how you couldn't totally adore these Handmade Lambswool Knit Pencil Scarves, from Etsy seller Saracarr.

I mean, really. Really. I love wacky, novelty type things such as this- plus, you know, I'm a giant nerd so there's that. Whaddya think? Too cool for school?

Atomic Tuesday: ShaNaNa NaNa Na NaNa Na, ShaNaNa NaNa

"Hey there, groovy chicks. You're all hep in far out ways!" It's Atomic Tuesday here, and I'm thinking it's a Brady Bunch kind of day. Something I didn't think I'd ever say, (let alone on Atomic Tuesday!), because let's face it, the Brady's are the most annoying bunch of butt-kissing, brown-nosing, goodie-goodie, straight-A's-getting, pain in the asses. Yet, they too are hep in a far-out, retro kind of way now, so I'm not hatin'. (Except Jan and her stupid knee socks and personality crisis. And Cindy with her awkward, ignored lisp. And Mike with his sexy white dude 'fro. And Carol with her intoxicating mullet. And ... you know? Let's move on.)

So I came across these vintage 60's/70's Orange & Green Starburst Plastic Drinking Glasses and I felt the Brady inspiration.

I love that the name of these plastic cups is "hi-kool glass":

I love when things are spelled "kool". It's like they're trying really hard to convince you that it's got mad street cred and totally awesome, just because it's spelled in a hep, far-out way. Don't they remind you of the Brady's kitchen somehow? Speaking of glasses, I also feel inspired to say: "Glasses?! Oh, no, mom! Not glasses! They'll make me look absolutely positively goofy!"

Knit Wits, Part 8: You Talkin' To Me?"

Today's Knit Wits inspiration comes from Etsy seller Loopy Lush- it's this Vintage Arran Knit Sweater Book.

Robert De Niro wants you to know 2 things: he likes his women older and his kids on the next bus to Grandma's. Oh, and one more thing: he wants you to know that if you don't like his smart, green sweater vest & red striped shirt combo, he'll put a friggin' bullet in your friggin' head then gut you from neck to navel like the swine that you are, roast your carcass over the flames of your burning house and serve you with a nice chianti. The man likes his sweaters.

Prints Charming Sunday: My Nuts. Let Me Show You Them.

Well, not actually my nuts, but I wish they were. If they were my nuts, I'd never sell 'em. I'd stash 'em away in my closet, pulling them out once in a while to admire. Maybe take 'em for a spin on a Sunday afternoon once in a while.

I am, of course, talking about this Vintage 50's Nut Novelty Print Toni Todd Dress & Bolero, today's vintage pick for Prints Charming Sunday!

Oh, nuts.

(What did you think I was talking about all this time? Pervs.)
