Aqua Blue Heaven Friday: Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em!...Or Not.

Welcome to Aqua Blue Heaven Friday!

A little over 3 months ago I began a whole body transformation, inside and out. I'm planning on writing a full post about it soon, so I'll just give you a quickie rundown: I started going to the gym regularly, completely overhauled my diet to the point of being a part-time vegetarian (lay off me PETA jerks), no alcohol (I know, I know! I can only joke about being drunk all the time--hey! I'm like Dean Martin now!) and I quit smoking for good. Naturally, of all the things I changed in my life, that was the hardest. Now if only I could get off crack, my transformation will be complete. (I'm kidding, people! Sheesh. I meant to say meth.)

So suffice it to say, when I found today's vintage pick of this Vintage Leather Wallet, Lighter & Cigarette Case Set for sale on Etsy, my heart wept. In my "smoking days" I would've been all over this set, but it's juuust not the same using a cigarette case to hold your tampons and crack pipe.

Isn't it a great set?! It's one of those things that you didn't know you had to have until you saw another gal pull it out of her vintage purse and then you'd covet the hell out of it. At least, *I* would! Plus the set is new old stock and has never been used! Waaaant it. Oh well. Back my rice cakes.

  1. I am sneaking online to look at this work and gave myself away with an audible *gasp*! If I did more actual work and less web surfing at work, I might actually have the $40 to buy it. Thanks for sharing. It's amazing.

  2. Sighing here too...... Okay, I'm done. :) Signed, formerly smoking Pam @ Sallygoodin P.S. If this set were red, I could not be held responsible for the price I woulda paid. True!

  3. Ah, that brings back memories. My grandmother always used a cigarette case like that, through the 1990s. Now I don't know anyone who does. Remnants of a sadly bygone era.

FYI, cigarette cases are fantastic for keeping gum in. Got that from Johnny Dangerously.

  4. OK..try this...cut up the rice cake into cigarette sized slivers...toast them slightly with your beautiful lighter...cram them in your classy cigarette case...yank them out when you need something to crunch on. No?

  5. That's one sweet find, makes me wanna take smoking back up just so I can justify buying it!
I with you on the whole body transformation thing, managed to quit smoking just before New Year now just to break the chocolate addiction that has replaced it. Next week I start a diet overhaul, i'm expecting to be super cranky over the next few weeks!!!

  6. Ahh! NICE set- I have been smoke free since 1998..March 11TH (I remember- its my EX-mother-in-law's BD)..lol Took me THREE times to quit along with nicorette gum.. But now - I cannot STAND the smell of cigarettes. I DO occasionally partake in a "Tatiana" flavored cigar( with a glass of white Zin) (tiny cigars- they would fit into that so Aqua Blue Ciggie case...) hummm- I do love it!
