Prints Charming Sunday: Life In A Northern Town.

Welcome to Prints Charming Sunday! To all my new amigos joining us, lemme drop a quickie explanation: Prints Charming Sunday is where I spotlight a seller's vintage novelty print (usually from the 1940's-50's), on a vintage dress, skirt, menswear, toilet seat cover, beer keg cozy, whatever. The wackier and whimsical-ier the print, the better!

So now, I give you today's pick, this Vintage 50's Jantzen New England Novelty Print Blouse:

Most folks associate Jantzen with swimsuits, but the company banged out some pretty cool non-swimwear fashions! Like this blouse. I love it. Alot. The seaside village, the boats, the old-timey barrels that I like to think holds beer, the...fishnet. It's wicked awesome. It's so...well, so New England, obviously. (Did you catch my New England joke in there with dropping "wicked"? Yeah, I know it was cheesy. It's how I roll.)

Look at the back! It's sailortastic.

The blouse is currently available on Etsy from seller Joules Vintage for a mere 35 clams! (Get it?! "Clams", as in money? And clams are a New England food type thing? And today's print is all about the seaside type vibe? Yeah, that was bloody awful. These are the jokes, people.)

  1. The corney jokes made me giggle. Like the sailor flap in the back, it really makes the blouse.

  4. Bring on the cheese! That's what we're here for.

I love everything about this blouse - the print and the style.

Wouldn't it look great with some clam diggers? :)

  5. That blouse reminds me of something I've seen women in my family wear for years.

  6. Do you remember when '50s styles came back a bit in the '80s. It's crazy, but at first glance this top reminded me of something I'd wear with colorful jam shorts in the '80s. How sad is that? I'm so ashamed.

  7. Omg. We use the same font for tagging our blog photos. We totally called each other the night before and planned this, right? Like in 3rd grade?
