Some Kind Of Wonderful

Sigh, again with the bad news.

Early today, 80's teen flick phenom John Hughes died at the age of 59. You might, nay, you better know him as the writer/director/producer of freaking classics like Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, the Breakfast Club, Nation Lampoon's Vacation, Ferris Bueller's Day Off...and about a jillion other movies that cheesehead dorks like me quote on pretty much a daily basis. His absence will, without a doubt, leave a big ol' void in the cinematic world that will be impossible to fill. We will miss you, John.

..."You're going the wrong way!!!"...

  1. Very sad news. :( I still remember sitting in the movie theater and watching Breakfast Club.

  2. that's terrible news. makes me very sad. He did make so many films that impacted us 80's teens and 20-somethings. I hate it when people my age or of my era die. just hate it.

  3. It was sad to hear this news. I watched all of those movies back when I was growing up. They played a big part of my teen years. I still enjoy going back and watching them.

  4. The first movie I ever saw in a theater was Pretty in Pink and went with my big sister who was a teen at the time. I don't remember anything about the day, because I was around 7 or 8, but it's a good "memory" anyway!

John Hughes was relatively young, which makes it even suckier yet. A huge loss.
