Hey, kids! Ready for this month's Vintage Giveaway? Being as though it's October, of course the giveaway has to be Halloween-themed, right? And of course, with a little bit of kitsch and a little bit of cheese thrown in, for good measure.
"The Horror Hit! MONSTER MASH- Sounds Of TERROR!" record. Yep. It's dated 1974 (which is terrifying on it's own). It has it's original plastic wrapping still on it. Though it's missing the inner paper sleeve, it plays perfectly and shows only minimal wear.
It starts out playing the real Monster Mash song, but then the rest of the record is sounds (werewolves howling, chains clanking, laboratory bubbling sounds- you know, the usual cliches sounds that is Halloween) and the typical British-accented, Vincent Price-esque guy narrating stories and such. It's cheesy. And not really at all terrifying.
"This is a trip into the uncharted regions of the unnatural world of horror. A region where the supernatural takes over the minds of men. It is that place where the fiends lurk, ready to plunge their fangs death deep. If you dare, turn out the lights and play this record on your phonograph..."
..."Can you stand the shock of hearing the exorcist battle Satan? Hear the unearthly sounds of the possession of the soul! Listen if you dare! Will the burning of the witches at the stake unhinge your mind? Does the screaming amongst the flames shatter your sanity? The evil blackness within this record is a journey into unbelievable...TERROR!"
The giveaway is totally free to you and everyone is welcome! The winner will be picked in one week from today, so next Monday the 19th.
