The First Day Of Autumn: A Vintage Giveaway!

I live for Autumn, being my all-time favorite season, and I seem to get a little bit happier this time of year, straight on to the first dusting of snow. Then I change back to being Gargamel. I smile on the inside a little bit more, but you probably won't see any difference in my usual sparkling, chipper and upbeat personality. (I said I'm sparkling, dammit!) It's not that I'm an unhappy person by any means. It's just that I'm a true Scorpio and we're not impressed by much. Or show emotions. Or act human.

The slow change of color on trees, apple cider, pumpkins, no more mowing the grass are just a few of the things I adore about fall. And I love being able to rock cardigans again. Oh baby, do I love me some cardigans! You may recall me mentioning that vintage cardigans are one of the things that I actually strive to collect. Hoard, really.

To celebrate this rare good mood of mine and giant display of emotion (yeah, this is considered a giant display), it's time for a vintage giveaway! What better way to rock the first day of fall than with a vintage sweater! This was given to me by a dear friend and fellow vintage seller who knows my obsession well, and now I can do someone else a solid!

This is a vintage 50's/60's wool & angora blend button-down with intarsia knit pink & green diamonds! (SWOON.) The hangup is that it has many repairs done to it thanks to moth chomps & random chomps that haven't been fixed. Professionally speaking, it's not resellable, at least I would never, but if you want to, be my guest. It's perfectly wearable and still an adorable sweater for Autumn!

It's suppose to be darn near 100 here through next week, but if I win, I will be proud to post a pic wearing it over my bathing suit! Hey! Autumn doesn't usually arrive here until the end of October...IF I'm lucky!!
(I have been known to turn the cooler on high just so I can walk around in a sweater!!)

  7. That is absolutely gorgeous, and I love it. Sadly, it's clearly too tiny for my gargantuan body. :( I guess no one was fat in the 50s. (except me). sigh

  11. Betty, people did used to be smaller back in the day, yes... but I think there were plenty of us larger ladies, too.

I sometimes wonder if the larger items and patterns were harder to find because there weren't as many of them and the ones that existed were used more.

All that said, I'd love to be entered into the contest, please :) Even if the sweater doesn't fit me, I have a niece who's about the right size.
